Celebrating 10 years as a maker!

10 years ago I told Cory I wanted to quit my job and make stuff. I wanted to quit my 8-5 job that paid me well, had paid vacation and had pretty great benefits. He didn’t even flinch, he looked at me said “Do it!” and so I wrote my letter of resignation.

I have had the pleasure of working for families to help them document their memories. I have traveled and taught at retreats and most recently been invited to teach for Creative Scrapbooker at their Carnival both here in Edmonton & in Calgary. I have created meaningful gifts for loved ones and for strangers. I have designed thousands of cards and countless mini albums. I’ve welcomed babies, celebrated birthdays, graduations, new homes, new jobs, vacations, wedding, anniversaries and created for loss. I have taught at kid’s birthday parties and in people’s kitchens. I have been given so many wonderful opportunities because of my love for paper and my love of creating. It’s pretty incredible.

I’ll be honest, if it weren’t for Cory none of this would have been possible. He has supported me, pumped me up and pushed me. He has encouraged me when I felt like a failure, felt that I was letting down my family. I am not sure I can properly articulate how grateful I am to him. ♥

I also need to acknowledge Treasured Memories, specifically Chantel and Kc. These ladies and their store have given me & my work a home. They have supported and encouraged me. Lifted me up in much the same ways Cory does. They have pumped me up when I feel sorry for myself and celebrated my wins with me. KC helps keep me organized and thankfully saves all the texts I send her when I can’t remember what I asked for. They have been an integral part in all of this, they have become family to me and I am so unbelievably grateful for them. ♥

This is a wonderful place for me, I have more ideas than I have time and I am excited to see where this all goes. To each and everyone of you who have supported me, encouraged me, shared my work and lifted me up- THANK YOU! I am just so freakin’ grateful!
